To preserv the Vienna district during large floods of the Loire (one in a century), an overflow has been created during the sixteenth century and imporved until the beggining of the twentieth century. Subsequently, the city expanded beyond the protection dams. Since 2004, the disurbanisation of the site began, thanks to ZAD.
The study will suggest several improvements including the creation of a “Way of the water”, highlighting the landscape of the overflow. Because the size and the strong constraints of floodability of the site, many uses and types of projects can be explored.
The way of the water can exist temporarly or permanently form ; ditches, irrigation canals for gardening, ponds… How water circulates? How water comes? Is it stagnant water or running? How often the water could appear?
